This course was very informative, with ample details and figures to substantiate the value of this product in varied applications.

I liked the evaluation of pros and cons. I've spec'ed artificial turf over the years and the rubber crumbs are the most disturbing aspect.

Interesting presentation. Would be interested in a more in depth presentation of sub bases for synthetic turf, for both commercial and residential uses. Great info on the sand and the zeolite! Left still with the big question: is the lifecycle cost of synthetic grass and environmental impact as well lower than understanding xeriscaping. I love its use cases in dry urban situations. Thanks again for making this content.

It was educational. However, I felt it didn't do enough to also acknowledge things such as energy usage in manufacturing, how much turf fiber is actually made of recycled content (usually when I ask this question of turf manufacturers, they acknowledge they aren't doing this much yet due to cost), or challenges of how municipalities make you calculate turf areas with the same permeability as parking lots (per EPA requirements), which leads to difficult and space intensive stormwater treatment requirements. It only told the positives, instead of acknowledging the challenges. I also think it would be an interesting comparison to do lifecycle costs analysis of lawn maintenance, versus turf installation and replacement, since it is implied here it is a cost saving measure to install it.

2016 course needs updating: 1. Because technology in the industry has probably evolved. 2. Data needs updating. 3. Because this is too focussed on suburban culture, no recognition of native plants/pollinator trends. We don't all use irrigation/pesticides/herbicides, or cover our tree roots with carpet. 4. show more action shots of the production, installation, and recycling of the turf. 5. Have some narrators that are not synthetic turf manufacturers (landscape architect, sports facility designer, civil engineer....). 5. Discuss how natural rainfall interacts with it, for run-off, penetration, etc. 6. How much water does rinsing off dusty turf take?

The course was informative but it felt more like an advertisement for the product than an unbiased look at the pros/cons of synthetic turf.

very good course that maintained my interest. What was left out, however, was comparative cost information, comparing artificial turf to grass lawns in terms of initial cost, installation cost and maintenance cost.

Pretty interesting - gave several reasons why a synthetic turf is superior to a natural lawn. Our dog park put in synthetic turf, and it saves time and money on maintenance, and dog owners love it. The video said there were additional downloadable materials to augment the video, but I did not see a link for that.

The course is mostly aimed at the purported environmental benefits of synthetic turf and has too much content about existing trees that is not relevant. It is light on useful information.
